You’re on your own. Good night.

The bishop of Tucscon, Arizona, has suggested that every parish hire a lawyer in case the diocese files bankruptcy. Is this where the Church in America has come to? We’re all on our own, we’re not really part of one family, one Church. All that stuff about the Church being universal, that every parish is an extension of the cathedral, every priest’s ministry an extension of the bishop’s ministry, all gone in one swift legal advisory. And how did these parishes get cast adrift, set on their own at the mercy of creditors, trial lawyers, and bankruptcy judges? Because a bunch of bishops shuffled perverts from place to place and now the Catholics of the Diocese of Tucson are left to pay the tab. Thanks for nothing, Your Excellencies.
