Washing might help

It’s a slow news day so everybody’s talking about the Mass. women who found black widow spiders in the grapes they bought at the supermarket. The problem is blamed on the ban on the use of pesticides, and I agree that perhaps we should re-think that ban.

But, I did see the grapes purchased by one of these women on TV last night, and I have to say that she’s a little responsible for the problem herself. After all, you could still see the spider web still on the grapes. Um, how about thoroughly washing the grapes when you bring them home from the story? I mean, ICK!

By the way, my brother-in-law Pete tells me that when he worked at supermarket during high school, they found a tarantula in a box of produce. They kept it as a pet for a while.

Did I mention that I hate spiders?
