They should know

They should know

A man becomes a priest late in life after his wife dies. We’ve heard the story before. It’s funny, but every Latin-rite priest I’ve heard of who is married now or was married in the past upholds the discipline of priestly celibacy. I’ve never heard of a single one who disagrees with it. (I’m sure there’s got to be at least one, but I’ve haven’t heard from him.) That certainly says something right there.

  • I think the “critics” who would say this priest “had it all” because he had children and now is a priest would be hypocrites.  People who don’t believe in celibacy very seldom believe in ten children either.
