The party’s platform

The party’s platform

I just got the following off G.W. Bush’s opponent’s web site, titled “Top Ten Reasons to Defeat George W. Bush”:

  1. Bush is destroying workers rights and outsourcing jobs…

  2. Bush is privatizing Medicare, Social Security and public education ...

  3. Bush is bankrupting the Federal Government with giant tax cuts for the very rich…

  4. Bush is rolling back civil rights gains…

  5. Bush is curtailing women’s rights and choice ...

  6. Bush is abusing immigrant workers in low-wage jobs ...

  7. Bush is exploiting and ruining the environment…

  8. Bush’s war in Iraq is a disaster for our security and economy. ...

  9. Bush is denying civil liberties and free speech in the name of fighting terrorism…

  10. Bush discriminates against Gays and Lesbians ...

Oh those Democrats and their silly partisan attacks ... Wait a minute ... That’s not from the Democrats’ web site. It’s from the Communist Party USA’s web site. Pretty scary when you can’t find a difference between the Democrat platform and the Communist platform.

  • This is not the first time Moore has advised Canadians about their politics. I saw BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE at its North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival (was within a few feet away of him, but too far to do the KILL BILL five-point palm exploding-heart technique).

In his speech, he warned the audience against the collapse of their “Canadian ethic” and the threat posed to it by “that guy, whatshisname Mulroney,”—referring to a former prime minister who hadn’t been a part of politics **for close to a decade.** I remember thinking “what a maroon,” but of course, the Canadians lapped it up.

  • No worries, Mike.  You can just do a reverse draft-dodger thing:  You seek haven from the Canadian authorities by moving to New York, and become the perpetual house guest on the “Today” show.  Or, maybe that’s what you already are.

Anyway, your good friend Katie Couric will always find something nice to say about you, and that big daily buffet spread NBC has will ensure you don’t shrink out of your XXL’s.

Just stay there until hockey season starts, and you’ll be just fine.

  • Er, they missed one. Bush is also changed with “sending jobs overseas…” – all those Call Center people in India and places East, don’t you know.

In one of Kerry’s Ads he declares that, if elected, he will “stop companies from sending jobs overseas…”

Oh yeah? How, might I ask? (he doesn’t provide details, of course).

Just like his statement to the NAACP yesterday that “there’s nowhere else in the world I would rather be than right here…”

Really…? And people believe this stuff…? Give me a break!

Kerry is all talk and no substance. Or to use Rod’s phrase from a different context: “All hat and no cattle”. (Rod is really getting into this Texan stuff, isn’t he?)

  • Er, they missed one. Bush is also changed with thor_url>

Do they have labor in the canadian arctic….or maybe he could work with the Inuits??

  • I think it’s pretty outrageous that the Canadian government thinks it has the right to suppress speech by Americans in the United States.  While I can see that Canadians might think it presumptious of me if I were to advise them to vote against the Liberal Party, and thus I’d be ineffective if I were to try it, I still shouldn’t be prohibited by law from doing so.
