The best priest-to-Catholics ratio

The Daily Nebraskan reports that Lincoln, Nebraska, has 1 priest for every 737 Catholics, the best ratio in the US. Not a surprise to me, nor should it be for Catholic World Report readers.

Back in July, Jeff Ziegler wrote an article for CWR examining why some dioceses have more vocations than others. (Download a PDF of “Priestly Vocations in America: A Look at the Numbers”) There are some surprising conclusions in there, including the notion that orthodoxy does not always equal many vocations and that some dioceses with bishops deemed as being liberal have quite a few vocations.
