A Phoenix priest was released from jail and abuse charges against him were dropped. Did they find that the allegations were false? Not exactly.
The alleged abuse occurred in 1979. According to an old law, charges had to be filed within seven years of the allegation being reported to police. They just found the 24-year-old police report so the statute of limitations is in force and the alleged pervert walks free. As I said below, the justice system is not about protecting the victim, just enforcing the law, good or bad.
