Setting a bad precedent

Setting a bad precedent

This sets a bad precedent. Secretary of State Bill Galvin has threatened the archdiocese of Boston with a lawsuit, with legislation to restrict its action, and with protests in order to keep his parish school open. It turns out all he needed was some cash. Okay, maybe it’s not that bad, but that’s how it looks.

  • Well if the people in these parishes paid for the schools and produced a few young men for the priesthood there would not be any closings would there?

It is not so complicated. This is not Henry VIII and co. looting the churches of Boston.
