A proposed Kentucky law would require a priest break the seal of the confessional if he learns of sex abuse while administering the sacrament. This law is not designed to help anyone. As the author must full well know, it will make criminals of priests who could then be imprisoned, in an attempt to destroy the Church. Every single priest knows that he would have to disobey the law and suffer a kind of martyrdom.
This is what comes of the Scandal created by 2/3rds of US bishops shuffling about pervert priests and failing to do the right thing when it was required of them.
