Check out the Roamin’ Roman blog by a young American lady studying in Rome for a year. She has amazing photos (which means the page loads slowly, alas). Start from the beginning and work your way up. It was nice to see Paris and Rome again. I dearly want to go back and, God willing, will take my children there someday. To be able to spend a whole year there though! Melanie was able to spend a semester in Rome, but I’ve only had two trips, one of four days and other of a week that included World Youth Day 2000.
But it’s not enough. It’s never enough time. Happily I can re-visit vicariously through the Roamin’ Roman.

Hey, aren’t you the editor of Catholic World Report? Move the headquarters of CWR to Rome. You will be able to live there full time.
Those photos are excellent. Does anyone know what happened to the pews at the Basilica of St. John Lateran?

Looks sparse without them.

JBP,
I don’t think St. John Lateran ever had fixed pews.
What a beautiful blog! Thanks so much for the link.
Thanks very much for the pointer to that blog, it’s much appreciated.
