Merry Christmas

On a completely different topic, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my readers a Merry and Blessed Christmas. I truly appreciate your loyal support and am humbled by your praise and the fact that you take time out of your day to read my ravings. it’s always been my goal to provide a little light on newsworthy events in the Church and outside—a light that is sometimes missing from secular news coverage—and I hope I have accomplished that goal a little.

Anything good that comes from what is on this site I credit to the glory of God and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Any mistakes, incoherent thoughts, or downright stupidity are all mine, alas.

Anyway, I don’t intend to blog again until after Christmas. I’ll be heading down to my brother’s house in Canton, Mass., later today and will spend the holiday there and at my other brother’s house. For Christmas Mass, I’ll be going to the 4 pm family Mass today at my parish. It’s the one that has the kids dressed up and performing a nativity play after the Gospel reading. I’ve talked to my pastor about maybe moving it until the end of Mass or before, which would be more appropriate, but no go yet. There are other battles for him to fight. It’s not so much the kids as the adults who treat the Mass like it was a school play. Ah well, if the Lord can stand it, I can. (I can be such a grouch sometimes. I should lighten up; it’s Christmas after all.)

They’re predicting snow for Christmas morning, a very rare occurence here despite being in the cold northeast. In fact, there’s generally only a 1 in 4 chance that we’ll even have snow on the ground on Christmas and a 1 in 10 chance of it actually falling on Christmas. This is that 1 in 10 year and we may even get a decent amount like 6 inches. That would be great. I love a good storm although 6 inches barely qualifies. Maybe this year we’ll get a nice 24-inch snow storm.

Well, enough of my rambling, I’ll see you all on St. Stephen’s Day.
