I have decided that I am going to read the Harry Potter books. I have heard the arguments for and against from people I both respect and admire and have come to the conclusion that I can’t make a judgment among their opinions without reading it for myself. I guess the books would seem natural reading material for me. I have always had an affinity for what’s called in the book trade “scifi/fantasy,” a catch-all term used for everything from Conan the Barbarian to Lord of the Rings to Star Wars to Isaac Asimov.
The only problem now: Making space on my “to be read” shelf. Oh well.
