It’s the economy

Lately it seems that Democrats have been rejoicing as they declare the economy moribund and lay the blame for it on President Bush. But is the economy as bad as they say? Consider the following facts.

The recession began in the third quarter of 2000, six months before Bush took office, thus it can hardly be fair to call it a Bush recession. Then a year later, the economy took a body blow on 9/11. Republicans could make a strong case for giving the president a pass on a bad economy considering these two facts. Except they don’t have to. In fact, the economy is doing quite well, thank you.
