The mayor of Boston, Tom “Mumbles” Menino, announced on Friday that will need to undergo surgery on Monday for skin cancer tumors on his back. He will have to go under general anesthesia for the operation.
A reporter at the news conference asked him if he would temporarily relinquish his power to the City Council President while he was incapacitated.
Why? In case Boston needs to go to war with Cambridge? He’s the mayor, not the president. I think Boston can do without its mayor for a few hours. Although I wonder how many hacks, how many payroll patriots will show up for work that day while the “cat” is away.
