Ed Bradley asks National Security Adviser Condoleeze Rice on “60 Minutes” tonight: In the 30 months since the War on Terror started, al Quaida has made more terror attacks than in the 30 months previous, despite taking out most of its leadership. How is that winning the war?

What a dope. In the 30 months following Dec. 7, 1941, there were more Japanese attacks on the US than in the 30 months previous. Were we losing the war? Of course not! The battle has been engaged. The enemy is desparate and fighting back in a last gasp. Would Bradley prefer if we had gone and hid after 9/11?

The reason we include them as our enemy in the war is because they’re dangerous, but now we have them reacting and fighting a retreat. We are fighting on our terms now, not theirs.

A cornered rat fights fiercest just before it’s speared at the last. The end is coming for al Quaida, sooner or later.

  • Sorry, my apologies to Narwen. smile I meant the big ugly brutes that live in sewers and pass on disease, not the cute, cuddly, clean ones.

Of course, I could have called them dogs or pigs, both culturally anathema to the al Quaida types.
