Lane Core notes a blog by a non-Catholic who notices the “ultimate incoherence of liberal Catholics’s attempt to have their cake and eat it too on the abortion question.” He’s referring to the “personally opposed, but ...” mantra.
Ultimately the questions is, as Lane quotes, “Why is it important to have Catholics in public life if, once there, they’re no different [than] anybody else?”
