Blog business: make sure your email address is current

For those of you who post comments, could you make sure that your email address on your Bettnet membership is both current and active? I’m getting way too many bounced messages from “new comment” notifications. If it keeps up I will start deactivating accounts which will prevent posting.

If you prefer not to receive emails, then uncheck the box next to “notify me of follow-up comments” before posting your comment.

To check your account, make sure you are logged in (and registered already, of course) and click on “Your Account” at the top of the page.

Also, in a related note, would “tonychill” and Tom Coolberth either email me with currently valid and active email addresses or enter new email addresses in your accounts. You happen to be the most active recent transgressors.

  • “If you prefer not to receive emails, then uncheck the box next to “notify me of follow-up comments” before posting your comment.”

I just unchecked the “Enable email notifications by default when you post messages” in my settings.  It’s easier to remember to opt-in than to opt-out, and it’ll cut down on superfluous e-mails on both ends.

  • I agree with opting in instead of out. I hadn’t noticed that change in the new software until I got a slew of EMails saying “someone has replied…”

As I never specify that, it caught me unawares…

  • FYI we’re talking tech – when logging in and then quickly clicking on a story, or anything for that matter you get the following error.

“You have exceeded the allowed page load frequency.”

Thought you might like to know.
