A victims’ group called “Survivors First” plans to unveil a new website that shows how bishops continue to stonewall investigations and cover up abuse. The group has already put up a web site lisiting the names of every priest and religious accused of abuse and the current status of the charges. They say there are now 1,613 names on the list, up 33 percent from January.
Their new web site will be at Bishops-Accountability.org (it’s not up yet) and will include, among other things, those secret emails by Cardinal Mahony that we saw last year that show how he planned to obstruct justice and evade disclosure. It should be interesting.
